Infoxchange welcomes Government action following calls for greater cyber support for not-for-profits
Infoxchange welcomes the release of the Australian Government's “Horizon 2” of the 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy – a whole-of-nation roadmap designed to make Australia a global leader in cyber security by 2030.
Infoxchange has advocated to government strongly for a focus on the needs of the not-for-profit sector as part of Horizon 2 and were pleased to see this reflected in the Horizon 2 Action Plan that was announced by the Minister for Cyber Security Tony Burke this month.
The specific actions include:
- Drive cyber uplift and maturity for the not-for-profit sector
- Facilitate greater sharing of cyber knowledge and resources across the not-for-profit sector through establishing a collaborative not-for-profit community of practice.
- Deliver a program of services to support not-for-profit cyber uplift. We will engage with the sector to build a capability assessment of current services and apply these findings to enhance existing cyber resources.
- Offer tailored advice to support small and medium businesses, not for-profits and individuals
- Enhance the Cyber Health Check Tool for small and medium businesses and not-for-profits to provide targeted cyber security guidance.
These actions align strongly with our recommendations and the work we have been undertaking through the Digital Transformation Hub, which has supported more than 20,000 not-for-profit organisations to strengthen their digital capability and cyber maturity.
We look forward to working with the Australian Government to deliver on the commitments to cyber security uplift across the not-for-profit sector.
